This is my basic winter look. First: you can never go wrong with black – this seems to be my go to color especially when it comes to these depressing winter days and second: it’s still trendy. When it comes to wearing all black I like to focus on the details like a patent leather, zippers and studs. My favorite piece in this whole ensemble is the contrasting patent leather biker jacket by Zara. Unfortunately, it’s sold out but I picked a few similar jackets below. When it comes to accessories, especially during these windy days, I like to throw on a cute beanie. You can read more about my New York City inspired look on FARFETCH. Being smart when it comes to fashion can make a big difference in your wardrobe. I save hundreds of dollars in tailoring fees by making the right choices when buying outfits for my figure. My number one tip in fashion? Color has power. That’s why block dresses are still so popular. Strategically placed color can slim your shape and shave inches off your waist! The key is understanding your body type and knowing which areas you want to camouflage or manipulate. Take a look at this dress I am wearing by Bebe; my waist looks tiny because of the dark fabric. Dark colors make certain areas of your body look smaller while light colors highlight the area. This combination with the right placement creates a slimming effect and instantly flatters the shape.
- When rocking the block remember always use solid colors. Too many patterns can cause more harm than good. Solids are always a classic choice.
- Find color balance by using complimentary colors
- Dark colors hide problem areas
- Light colors highlight your best features
Block dresses are perfect for any age! My mom who is in her 50’s looks stunning in them. I rounded up some amazing options below! Spoil yourself ladies!

Everyone needs a signature white blouse. I’ve been searching for an option that was simple but also made a statement with its unique design and flattering shape. Fortunately, a recent partnership with Shein has put me on the right path. I am obsessed with this white puff sleeve off the shoulder self tie blouse (say that 3x fast). In this post I paired it with grey distressed jeans from H&M and white strappy heels from Steve Madden. What I love most about off the shoulder look is the flattering neckline. I think having an exposed shoulder is sexy, flirty, and feminine. I picked out some amazing options for those of you looking to try out this fun look. See them below
Since the choker trend is still going strong I wanted to showcase some of the amazing “affordable” pieces from Forever21. The necklace I am wearing came in a set of three but for this look I opted to wear it separately. I love the thin chain because it gives off an illusion of a floating pendent. Forever 21 has a tons of options for pretty accessories which have been hand picked by me below.
Hey loves – Happy Hump Day! I have been spending so much time with my best friend Ariana lately and it feel SO GOOD to be reunited. While I was living in Las Vegas we didn’t get to see each other much, but now that I am on the east coast it’s been FIRE. Anyways, we went shopping the other day and I happened to wear these amazing jeans by Zara. They have this ultra-cool, 70’s vibe about them and turns out they’re a big hit amongst fellow shoppers! I got tons of compliments even though I paired them with a very simple look. Nothing but jeans and a crop top. If you follow my blog then you already know boot cut jeans and bells are my absolute favorite, plus there is a reason for this calculated decision. I am only 5 feet tall and because I am so petite I find jeans like this make me look taller than I really am. They don’t cut off at the ankle, instead, they cover my shoes giving off the illusion of a longer leg. The crop top I am wearing is from H&M and I believe it was on sale for 7 bucks – SCORE!
P.s. Ariana also started her own blog called Wild Yoga Child, be sure to check it out! She talks about everything from online dating (the good & bad) to women empowerment & mental health.
